About the Founder

Layla Nassab is a Neuroscience and Behavior student at Barnard College of Columbia University, passionate about the intersections of brain science, identity, and global health. With a background in music therapy research, pediatric medical missions, and nonprofit leadership, she founded Synaptic Shift to make neuroscience more accessible and equitable for youth everywhere.

Through storytelling, education, and advocacy, Layla aims to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and lived experience—one synapse at a time.
